Odom, Schwartz to Meet with Buss Tomorrow Morning
Sources from the Lakers' organization have informed me that Lamar Odom and his agent, Jeff Schwartz, will be meeting with Lakers' owner Jerry Buss on Wednesday morning. The issue at hand will be whether Dr. Buss has agreed to either a) add a 4th guaranteed year to the current offer, or b) revive the original offer of 3 years, $30 million guaranteed. I am being told that if Buss agrees to either of these 2 things, Odom will sign the contract there and then. If not, negotations may be further prolonged until an agreement is reached. Stay tuned tomorrow for updates.

How credible would you say your sources are? I agree with the interesting choice of words. Was the way you worded it correct or is it in hopes that he agrees?

Thought anyone could start a blogspot and speculate on the LO saga, but you don't seem to be just anyone as your updates are very solid and seem to be one step ahead. You have quite a number of followers in a 500+ page LO thread on a popular Lakers forum. Hope you're right about the meeting! It's about time this story finds some positive closure.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure Dr. Buss will put a guaranteed 3 yrs/$27million offer back on the table. Possibly with some performance incentives to get closer to the $30 million deal. But this is as high as he will go and no fourth year will be offered. This somewhat stronger push will be made to (hopefully) appease Kobe, even if LO still bolts.

DR. buss did meet with Lamar Odom for about 45 minutes around 11:00. I'm afraid the news is not good. Dr. buss refused to give Lamar a 4th year in the deal. The original offer of 3 yrs 30 million deal is off the table indefinately. Lamar has no more scheduled meetings with Dr. Buss saying they have broken off negotiations at this point. He continued to say there will be no more offers made to lamar at this point. Lamar is siad to be catching a flight to miami to talk to Pat Riley. A deal could be consummated as early as Thursday.

Odom stated that he wants to be a Laker, and Buss reiterated, holding deflated penis in hand, that he wants Odom back for next year, Skittles fallin out of his pocket onto the court so Bynum can get hurt again.
