According to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, Lamar Odom is leaning strongly to accepting the Miami Heat's offer and leaving the LA Lakers.
"It's close, but it's not done," said one source.
Unless the Lakers improve their offer, Odom will leave.
WOW. Just wow. Buss already put his $$$ on the line with the initial 3 year, $30 million deal. After Odom balked at it and Buss took it off the table, there was no way he was gonna put it back up. The Lakers are already looking at a $100 million payroll (factoring in the luxury tax), so any salary given to Odom would be doubled and added to that $100 million figure.
If he is given $10 million a year like he is asking for, Lakers' owner Jerry Buss is looking at $120 million in payroll for next year. And this figure looks to be growing every year thereafter, when you factor the built-in raises of each contract.
Maybe this is the end of the line for Odom with the Lakers after all.
